Rails Envy Podcast - Episode #031: 05/14/2008
by gregg on May 14, 2008
Episode 031. Steven Bristol is back this week and although the podcast is full of music, we don't actually sing. Seriously, I have no idea how all that music got in there.

Hi!
Recently I published a gem very useful for those who usually use the autotest (ZenTest).
My blog is well known in the Brazilian Rails community, but I have little visibility in other countries. But I would like to disclose this gem.
I believe that you can help me. Here’s the link (in English) about it: http://www.nomedojogo.com/2008/05/14/the-autotest-notification-gem/
Hey!
Just wanted to tell you that the Bitstream Vera Sans Mono font is the font used by Ryan Bates at Railscasts. I suppose that’s why it scored so high at the last poll.
Just found that out the other day and I really like it :)
After hearing about the endless page plugin, I decided to look into it. Not liking what I found, I created something a bit different.

Excellent work as always!
One small wish:
I often find myself thinking while coding:
‘Wasn’t there something interesting regarding this on Railsenvy a few weeks ago’
Search functionality…hmmm, ferret, sphinx, solr…’Wasn’t there something interesting regarding this on Railsenvy a few weeks ago’…
I was wondering why my blog suddenly jumped from a handful of visitors per day to a few hour. Thanks for the linky! I hope that the notes are beneficial to folks. Obviously, I can’t republish the slides from the class as that is PragProg IP (and they don’t provide soft copy either) but my notes seemed kosher.
+1 on being able to search the podcast notes.
Like Tommy, I’ve often thought “hmm…I want to do this…oh right, there was a note on RailsEnvy about that!”
But then digging through the archives takes some time because there isn’t an easy way to search. : (
@Tommy Westerberg: what I always do, is just open the podcast page (I think this has either all or the latest.. 20? episodes) then press ^F to search; usually I get what I need this way.
